Department Accreditation
The Frisco Police Department has completed its voluntarily assessment against a body of 479 nationally recognized professional standards developed by The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). This required an in-depth review and audit of every aspect of the department's organization, management, operations and administration.
In August 2008, the department underwent the initial accreditation review in the Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. On December 6, 2008, the department was awarded full accreditation. Our department was awarded its reaccreditation in November 2011 and November 2014. The next assessment will take place in June 2017. The Communications Division of the police department will undergo its initial Communications Accreditation onsite in June 2017.
Guided by our mission, vision, and organizational values, the Frisco Police Department took a participatory approach to this process, assigning the lions’ share of policy research and development to many members.
